The deal, in plain words.

What you get

BetterPosture is free to download and use on your own Macs, for as long as you like. Detection, calibration, the overlay, snooze and the Progress window are free for good. Profiles, history, built-in notes and weekly reviews are free without an account. There is no trial and no daily cap.

What it is not

BetterPosture is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. It notices one thing, early, and tells you plainly. If you have pain, see someone qualified. The research we link on the site is for context, and we say “linked” and “associated” on purpose.

Fair use

Use it, share the download link, write about it. Do not resell it, strip the signing, or pass it off as your own. The app is closed source today; the detection claims are checkable on the verify page.

One purchase

Pro is a one-time purchase of $29, plus any tax that applies where you are. There is no subscription and no renewal. Your access is tied to your purchase email, for your own Macs. Sign in to verify that email. Saved Pro access works for up to seven days after a successful online check, then needs an online refresh. Your sign-in session lasts up to 30 days.

Assistant notes

AI-written assistant notes and weekly reviews require your own Anthropic API key and your opt-in in Settings. Anthropic charges you separately for usage. Your Pro purchase does not include provider credits. Detection, built-in notes and weekly reviews are free and work without that connection.

What you keep

Everything you bought, for good. Updates to Pro features are included for a year from your purchase. After that the app keeps working exactly as it does on that day, and you can choose to extend updates if we offer it.

Your access

Keep it private. It is for you and your own Macs, not for a team, a company, or a forum. Keep sign-in codes and access keys private.

Refunds

If Pro is not what you expected, request a refund within 30 days of purchase. Write to hello@betterposture.app with your order email. After a refund, your right to use Pro ends. The change applies on the next online access check or when the current offline access period ends, at most seven days after its last refresh. Where the law where you live gives you a right to withdraw from a digital purchase, nothing here takes that away.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe under Stripe's own terms. We never see your card number.

We promise

Nothing from your camera leaves your Mac. Every connection the app makes is listed on the privacy policy with ways to stop it. If we change what the app collects, the policy changes first and gets a new date.

We do not promise

That detection is right every time. Cameras, lighting and chairs vary, and the app is calibrated to you precisely because a fixed rule fails. The software is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, and our liability to you is limited to what you paid for Pro, if anything. Nothing here limits rights that the law where you live does not allow to be limited.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version gets a new date at the top and the change is noted in the release notes. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept them.
